In response to the phenomenal leadership of businesswoman and educator Ethel Mae Rogers Grundy, inaugural president of the Prince George’s County Alumnae Chapter (PGCAC) and 22 other dynamic professional women, March 31, 1974 marked the beginning of this history making, premier chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Now, after four decades, PGCAC continues to embrace change in meeting the challenging and evolving needs of the diverse communities in our beloved Prince George’s County.
Chartered on April 28, 1990, the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter (FWAC) has been serving Southern Prince George’s and Charles Counties for nearly 25 years. Due to extraordinary programs, FWAC was awarded Chapter of the Year in 2008 at the 49th National Convention. FWAC was a finalist for Chapter of the Year (large chapter) in 2013 at the 51st National Convention and in 2014 at the Eastern Regional Conference.
